Iarina is also a member of Cor cu Dor, a choir founded in 2016 under the guidance of conductor Teodora Jaworski, a classical singer and former soloist with the Madrigal – Marin Constantin National Chamber Choir. In this equal-voice choir, every child is encouraged to find their own musical identity. Like a family, they listen to one another so that, together, they can sing as one.
With Cor cu Dor, Iarina has performed alongside leading Romanian and international artists, including Tom Odell, Vama (the choir opened the band’s concert at Arenele Romane), Iris, Nikos Vertis, Andra, Smiley, Loredana, Irina Rimes, Zoli Toth, Feli and Ducu Bertzi. They have appeared at the Romanian Athenaeum, the Bucharest National Opera and Sala Palatului, and have even sung on the pitch at the National Arena.
Their recognition has long extended beyond Romania. At the Chorus Inside international festival in Croatia, Cor cu Dor returned home with four trophies, winning gold in the Traditional Music and Gospel categories against choirs from across the world, from Poland and Brazil to Taiwan. The choir also won First Prize at the International Choir Festival Music & Sea in Greece. A wider audience discovered them on Românii au Talent, where an unexpected rock performance impressed the judges.
The choir means a great deal to Iarina. It teaches her to listen and blend her voice with others, bringing dozens of voices together into one sound. It is also a chance to enjoy singing alongside her friends.
